About One on One… together: 

This exhibition is a gathering of artists who are or have worked with me by blocking out time I call One on Ones. Some artists may come for a few hours wanting to learn new processes, others might want a more on-going in-depth exploration over time booking a few powerful back-to-back days every few months. Some artists opt for the weekly or monthly hour-long consultations in-between longer hands-on sessions. We always start off with a brainstorming session where we dialog and I’m able to gain a deeper understanding for the artist and the work. We then plan our sessions which often change and grow over time to meet new needs as the work evolves. I sometimes go to artist’s studios but artists also love coming here, to my studio, where I have hundreds of supplies or we also meet by Zoom.   

Through this focused time I’m able to help artists develop more succinct concepts and processes and they often bring work to fruition along with strategies upon return to the studio. We build on strengths, open mindedly, experimenting to see where the work wants to go next. Some of these explorations have included 2D and 3D installation utilizing materials such as Tyvek, foam, plaster and wire, and or 2D work utilizing inks, watercolor, Yupo, encaustic monotypes and or oil paint and so much more which you will see in these two back to back curated exhibitions titled “One on One.. together”.
