Description:
In this workshop we'll be using various methods of moving wax and charcoal to create beautiful abstractions. The abstractions can be landscape based or non-objective compositions.
Use scrapers, shapers, and any other tools you can think of to to make marks, playing back and forth between additive and subtractive methods.
We'll use Pan-Pastels at various points to add or start with color.
We'll will be utilizing optional cold wax monotyping methods to layer in marks as well.
Thin papers, and tissue are another way of adding layers of interest and we'll be doing that on the second day.
Participants will work on Arches Oil Paper and / or Terra Slate (a wonderful surface that accepts the wax and mineral spirits but does not warp or buckle) and you'll have the option to mount one piece on board.
