Monotypes are an original printmaking process of laying down your paint, in this case on a heated surface with encaustic paint, and then gently laying the paper down to pick up the beautiful image. You can then work back into it with more layers of encaustic paint, watercolors and or inks. You can also cut or tear the paper to collage into other works. This is so much fun - a loose and freeing process. No encaustic painting experience required, let just go for it!

These can now be used for monotypes or painting on boards. Such a great exploration in personalizing your work with nuanced colors.
